Fashionistas Beware! Mattel Releases Monster High - Haunt Couture in 2022
Fans of Monster High are rejoicing this year! After a four-year hiatus, this fabulously freaky doll line is back with some truly collector-worthy editions of the original fan favorites. Packaged in coffin-shaped boxes complete with brushes and diaries, touting rooted eyelashes, new face sculpts and new hairstyles, these are some truly spooktacular dolls that are must haves for every Monster High Collector.
Monster High Haunt Couture Frankie Stein
Frankie Stein (released 2/18/22)
True to the Frankie Stein that premiered in 2010, this Frankie is also wearing a blue, black and white goth-punk outfit, but this one is a little more grown-up. The small details on this doll make it incredibly impressive, from the “High Voltage” hair barrette to the zippers on her skirt. The cleverest feature of this doll, however, are the boots. If you look closely at the heels, they are tiny electric switches that move when unhinged from the back of the boot.
You can also order a life-size pair of Frankie’s earrings for yourself on Mattel’s Mattel Creations website. Call me crazy, but I think we may see a lot of Frankie Steins next Halloween…
Monster High Haunt Couture Clawdeen Wolf
Clawdeen Wolf (released 3/18/22)
The wolf in chic clothing also stayed true to her 2010 counterpart with an added mature edge. Like her premier version, Clawdeen is wearing a primarily purple and gold outfit complete with a pleated skirt. The details make the difference here as far as texture goes; the combination of a vinyl skirt, mesh top and furry coat make this a very interesting doll.
One feature that is sure to delight fans is Clawdeen’s purse. As the creative, fashion-centered character, Clawdeen often re-purposes old fashions into new ones. Her purse is no exception, made to look like she crafted it out of her original, 2010 jacket.
Monster High Haunt Couture Draculaura
Draculaura (release date TBA)
The daughter of Dracula never looked more hauntingly beautiful. Staying within her traditional pink, black and white attire, this doll also has a more grown-up look. As with the other dolls, the high detail of the accessories and the outfit make Draculaura a stunning sight to see. Her bat wing-shaped cape and black bat embroidered hat solidify her gorgeous vampire style.
Draculaura’s necklace is also on point; reminiscent of the neckpiece often worn by the many depictions of Dracula we have seen over the decades.
Both Frankie Stein and Clawdeen Wolf sold out in mere seconds during their respective pre-sales on the Mattel Creations website. To get chance to purchase Draculaura, or any other subsequent Monster High dolls they may release, you must sign up on the website. Do it quick! As of right now, the only place to find Frankie and Clawdeen is on eBay, and the same will likely go for Draculaura.
