“Is that Bob Saget?!”

We weren’t even fully recovered from the loss of Betty White when we heard about the death of Bob Saget. Like Betty, Bob was another American actor who graced our living rooms and our hearts for years. As Danny Tanner on Full House, he showed us that while bad things happened, we can learn from them and move on with the help of family (and a bit of humor).

Later in his career, Bob Saget played the Narrator in the hit TV series, How I Met Your Mother. However, this wasn’t the only voice over piece of career. Read on for three movies that Bob lent his voice talent to that you may not have known about!

Madagascar

This Dreamworks Animation film starred the voice talents of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith and David Schwimmer as the main characters. OK, but what about Bob? Well, if you leave the room for more popcorn, you just might miss it.

Bob plays the part of the “Unspecified off-screen zoo animal.” Devoted Danny Tanner fans might catch it, but without a visual character to even tie him to, it’s likely to end up as one of those “I know that voice” moments that bother you for days on end.

Farce of the Penguins

Be forewarned, this is not a nature film meant to be watched with your kiddos! Written, directed, produced and voiced by Bob Saget, this film was made to spoof the French box office hit of a similar name, March of the Penguins.

The cast is star studded, including Saget himself, Samuel L. Jackson, Lewis Black, Christina Applegate, and many more. The story follows a group of young, male penguins migrating to their breeding grounds to meet up with females and is sprinkled with inappropriate, adult humor throughout. From the likes of Bob’s stand-up comedy, we wouldn’t expect anything less.

Casper’s Scare School

Based on the beloved friendly ghost of Harvey Comic’s creation, Casper’s Scare School premiered on Cartoon Network in October of 2006. Saget voiced the character of Dash, one half of a tentacled monster who was the dean of the Scare School. His other half, Alder, was voiced by James Belushi.

The basic premise is that Casper is sent to Scare School to learn how to scare humans. Yet, true to Casper form, he doesn’t want to scare humans. So, he runs away. Meanwhile, the nefarious dean (deans?) Alder and Dash conspire to take over rulership of the Underworld at large. Definitely not a role you would expect to hear Bob voice, but its rather amusing once you realize it’s him and Jim.

Bob Saget has accomplished much during his career and has become a cultural icon in his own right. What are some of your favorite Bob Saget memories? Let us know in the comments below!
